Nexus4kTV Copyright and DMCA

How Nexus4kTV handles copyright infringement notices: what a notice must contain, how we review it and how to dispute a removal.
Our policy
Nexus4kTV respects intellectual property. We follow a notice-and-takedown procedure modelled on the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). It does not replace any reporting procedure that the law where you live provides. Every complete notice is reviewed.
If you represent a copyright owner and believe that content available through Nexus4kTV infringes that copyright, send us a notice so we can review it and act on it.
What a notice must contain
A valid notice includes the following.
1. Your details
- your full name and, if any, the organization you represent;
- your mailing address, telephone number and e-mail address.
2. The copyrighted work
- the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed;
- enough detail for us to understand your notice.
3. Where the material is
- the exact location of the material in the service;
- as much detail as possible: channel name, title, date and time of broadcast.
4. Your statements
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf;
- a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or of a person authorized to act on their behalf.
How we handle a notice
- You send your notice with all the information above.
- We check that it is complete and valid.
- We act: valid notices are reviewed promptly and can lead to the removal of, or the blocking of access to, the material reported.
False notices
Anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages. If in doubt, talk to a legal professional before sending a notice.
Counter-notice
If you believe material was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notice the same way. It includes:
- your name and how to reach you;
- the material that was removed or blocked;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the removal was a mistake;
- your physical or electronic signature.
